Velocity Expands Application Hosting in Canada through new relationship with Primus
(New York, New York, April 5, 2010) –Velocity Technology Solutions, Inc., a leader in cloud-based enterprise software hosting, application management and consulting services, announced today that it has expanded its hosting services into Canada through an agreement with Primus Telecommunications Canada, Inc., (OTCBB: PMUG). This partnership ensures Canadian businesses can benefit from the Velocity On-Demand™ cloud-based technology services while ensuring that their data and software applications remain within Canadian borders.
“We first established our Canadian presence with our acquisition of RJ Thompson Data Services, a technology consulting business located in London, Ontario,” said Velocity Chief Executive Officer Tom Bruno. “I’m excited to now be able to bring our software hosting solutions to Canadian-based businesses through our new partnership with Primus. Our private cloud-based service offerings provide our customers secure, high availability computing environments for their enterprise software. The addition of this datacenter provides peace-of-mind to our Canadian businesses as well as full compliance with Canadian laws and regulations.”
“We are excited that Velocity chose Primus to deliver to their Canadian customers hosting solutions from our London Data Centre – one of our seven highly reliable world-class data centers in Canada, owned and operated by Primus,” said Primus Vice President Jeff Lorenz. “Customers can be assured that their data is protected in a highly secure and controlled environment with built-in redundancy so that business-critical applications are accessible 100 percent of the time.”
According to Bruno, Velocity customers benefit from lower total costs of operating Lawson Software, and added value in their ERP investments with the support of interfaced applications, such as Kronos.
“We eliminate the burdens and concerns related to maintaining and upgrading software releases and we supply our customers with round-the-clock support provided by highly-skilled, locally based personnel,” Bruno said.
