ELOISE PISANO AS DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & PR

Long Island, NY (July 2014) - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI) has named Eloise Pisano as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations. Eloise will be the agency’s main contact for all media inquiries as well as spearheading BBBSLI’s marketing efforts.

“We are thrilled to welcome Eloise Pisano to the BBBSLI staff,” said CEO Mark Cox. “Her drive, knowledge and team oriented attitude will be an invaluable asset to our agency.”

Eloise comes to BBBSLI with an extensive background in public relations and marketing from the non-profit sector to consumer products. For the past year, Eloise has been a Senior Publicist at 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. where she was responsible for all public relations initiatives for The Popcorn Factory, Fannie May Confections and lead internal communications for the entire 1-800-Flowers.com enterprise. Prior to 1-800-Flowers.com, Eloise served as a Public Relations Manager at MSG Varsity, a division of Cablevision and as an Account Executive at MSL New York where she was part of a Silver Anvil Award winning team.

Born and raised on Long Island, Eloise holds a B.A. from New England College (Henniker, NH) and resides in North Babylon, NY with her husband.
RICHARD GROSSI APPOINTED TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
AT BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF LONG ISLAND

Long Island, NY (June 2014) – Richard Grossi has been appointed to the Board of Directors at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI).

Mr. Grossi is the Executive Vice President, Global Operations and Support at OpenLink, the global leader in Transaction Lifecycle Management (TLM) software for the commodity, energy and financial services industries.

“We’re excited to have Richard Grossi join our Board of Directors. He brings passion and excitement, diversity in knowledge, and valuable connections to the community,” stated Mark Cox, CEO of BBBSLI. “At OpenLink, he manages various business, support and technical teams focusing on meeting and exceeding customer requirements and satisfaction. We believe this experience will be invaluable to us, especially as we expand our services across Long Island.”

Through OpenLink, Mr. Grossi supported the annual Holiday for Kids’ Sake program by donating and delivering gifts to the doorsteps of BBBSLI families. In addition, he is playing an instrumental role in establishing a site-based mentoring program at the global headquarters of OpenLink in Uniondale, Long Island.

“I am extremely excited to join a very qualified team at BBBSLI,” said Richard Grossi. “For the past year, I have researched several organizations with the hope of providing my time and passion to one that aligned with my personal goals. After meeting with various members of this organization, I was impressed with both the vision of the organization as well as the people involved.”

Mr. Grossi also volunteers with various youth sports organizations in Melville, where he resides with his wife and two children.

18th Annual Golf Tournament Raises $103,000 for
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island

 

Long Island, NY (June 2014) The 18th Annual Golf Tournament, held June 2, at The Muttontown Club in East Norwich, raised $103,000 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island (BBBSLI).

 

The sold out event, sponsored by CMS Electrical Services, Inc. included breakfast, 18 holes of golf, on-course BBQ lunch, cocktail reception, gourmet buffet dinner and awards.

 

At the event, BBBSLI honored James Conboy, Senior Vice President at AMC Networks Inc. “I’m blessed to have met people who have always looked out for me and mentored me,” shared Conboy, “I’ve also had a chance to give back to some people too.  And I’m here to support this agency and the work they do to get “Littles” in the program matched with mentors to give them the opportunity to grow as people.”  Mr. Conboy is also a member of the BBBSLI Board of Directors.

 

Also speaking at the event was Big Brother, Barry Baretela, who has a long-standing relationship with BBBSLI.  “I’ve been connected to the agency for over 25 years.  I’ve had a great experience as a Big Brother,” stated Baretela, currently in his 4th match.  “The most rewarding thing is when I hear my Little Brother thank me for something I didn’t even realize that I did.  As a Big, you really can make a difference.”
